Corona Special Edition

In this video, Street Films visits Corona Plaza’s opening day celebration–where people from the Corona community and from all over the city gathered to celebrate the transformation of their niehgborhood’s space.

Corona Plaza in Queens is different than many plazas because it has so many partnerships with nearby and related organizations including Queens EDC and the Queens Museum of Art. Street Films interviews everyone from a barber shop owner whose storefront looks out over the plaza to the Executive Director of the Queens Museum, to a volunteer who picks up the tables and chairs at the end of the day.

Corona plaza is maintained by The Horticultural Society of New York and community volunteers, and it’s used by millions of Corona neighborhood residents every day.
